Profile

New Zealand’s Nick Cassidy is a title-winning machine, and a force to be reckoned with.

Nick was the youngest-ever winner of the North Island Sprint Kart title and he completed the same feat in the New Zealand Sprint Kart Title, aged just nine.

By the age of 14 Nick had won every karting event on the North Island. Nick’s potential was soon spotted and he was rewarded with a Speedsport Scholarship into Formula First with Sabre Motorsport.

In 2009, Nick finished in second place overall in Formula First in New Zealand and was named Rookie of the Year before taking the runner-up spot and the same accolade in the following year's New Zealand Formula Ford Championship.

In 2011, Nick finished runner-up to Mitch Evans in the Toyota Racing Series, driving for Giles Motorsport, and once again he was named Rookie of the Year.

The prolific Aucklander went on to claim championship titles in the years between 2012 and 2019 in the Toyota Racing Series, New Zealand Grand Prix, All-Japan Formula 3, Super GT and Super Formula, thereby winning the ‘triple crown of Japanese motorsport’.

In 2021, he added DTM drives for AF Corse to that list, taking on the GT series subject to his Formula E commitments.

The Kiwi became a Formula E race winner in 2022, securing his maiden win at the New York City E-Prix.

Nick took the 2023 ABB FIA Formula E Championship fight to the final race, finishing P2 overall after a fantastic season.
